The Ministry for Interreligious Dialogue in collaboration with Caritas Manila recently conducted a livelihood activity for the women of Muslim community last September 29, 2014 at 9:00 in the morning. A representative from Caritas Manila Livelihood Program channeled the process through a demonstration assisted by two trained livelihood volunteers.

Due to the unrest state of Mount Mayon, PHIVOLCS raised the Alert Level 3 of the volcano last September 16, 2014 and up to the present. At this level, the magma is at the crater and that hazardous eruption is possible within weeks. The government forced the people living within the 6 km. Permanent Danger Zone and 8 km Extended Danger Zone to evacuate for a possible eruption. Thousands of families were affected and displaced. Evacuees continuously receive relief and financial support.

Mayon Volcano in the Province of Albay is a magnet for tourists because of its near perfect cone shape from the summit to the base. The volcano has erupted about 48 times in recorded history. Way back in 1814, more than 1,200 people died when lava flows buried the town of Cagsawa. Its last major activity was an explosion of ash and steam in May 2013.
