Every year, Earth Day is celebrated on April 22, on which day events worldwide are held to demonstrate support for environmental protection. It’s the perfect time to start thinking about the planet we live on and how to save it.

Earth Day aims to inspire awareness of and appreciation for earth’s environment. This year’s theme is “Environmental and Climate Literacy”. Environmental and climate literacy is the engine not only for creating green voters and advancing environmental and climate laws and policies but also for accelerating green technologies and jobs. Education is the key to advocacy and advocacy is the key to change.

The Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene supports Earth Day. Quiapo Church will become part of the movement that continues to inspire, challenge ideas, ignite passion, and motivate people to action. Earth Day is more than just a single day. It’s bigger and brighter. We will start now and we won’t stop the advocacy on environmental and climate literacy.
