As part of the celebration of Fire Prevention Month 2017, the Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene conducted a Fire and Evacuation Drill on March 9. The said activity was facilitated by Bureau of Fire Protection-Manila and attended by MBBN employees and volunteers.

The activity was divided into two parts. The first part was a talk on the basics of fire and fire prevention. This session emphasized the basic knowledge on the nature and behavior of fire. The second part was the fire drill and evacuation that tested the response procedures and evacuation of MBBN Fire Brigade and employees during fire emergencies. A demonstration on extinguishing fire using a fire extinguisher and the proper response on a fire caused by liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) was also done. The fire drill has increased everyone’s awareness on fire safety and preparedness in case of a fire incident.

The said activity was initiated by Quiapo Church Disaster Preparedness and Response Ministry (QCDPRM) Office and Physical Plant Office.
