Quiapo Church has begun urgent relief response by distributing relief packs composed of food and non-food items to Typhoon Lando (Koppu) survivors. Last October 21, the Quiapo Church Disaster Preparedness and Response Ministry (QCDPRM) delivered 1,000 relief packs for Diocese of Cabanatuan with drop-off point at St. Isidore the Worker Parish, Talavera, Nueva Ecija.

The contents of each relief pack are the following: 2 kg. rice, 2 corned beef, 2 sardines, 1 coffee, 4 noodles, 1 pack biscuit, ¼ kg. sugar, 1 bath soap and ¼ detergent bar. In addition, 20 boxes of bottled water (800 pieces) and 4 boxes (679 pieces) of Acapulco ointment were given.

According to Fr. Aldrin Domingo, Diocese of Cabanatuan Social Action Director and Parish Priest of St. Isidore the Worker Parish, 120 relief packs per municipality were distributed to 8 municipalities namely: Sta. Rosa, Jaen, Bongabon, Laur, San Antonio, Calaba, Sta. Barbara and San Leonardo-Adoralde.

The said diocese also requested for additional 1,000 packs that will be given to Gabaldon and some other areas. QCDPRM together with Msgr. Hernando Coronel delivered the additional relief goods on October 23.

The relief operations continue as Quiapo Church has been receieving requests from other dioceses.
