A series of seminar on “Disaster Preparedness and Management and Basic First Aid” was organized and given by the Quiapo Church Disaster Preparedness and Response Ministry last July 19, 26, and August 2, 2015 to the PWD (Persons with Disability) Ministry. It is with utmost priority for the ministry to consider our brothers and sisters who are most vulnerable and share with them the knowledge and skills in Disaster Management and First Aid interventions that could help others when needed.

The seminar aims that our PWD acquire basic practical skills for working in emergencies and appreciation of the current disaster management practices and trends

Understand current theoretical trends of intervention and analysis of basic first aid

Understand the importance of using information appropriately in disaster situations.

Identify the factors that contribute to individual resilience and mental health in disaster situations.

Our brothers and sisters in the ministry actively participated in the seminars and put into practice what they have learned, they even prepared their own GO bags and showed it to the Ministry. As of the moment the seminar still has to have its final session on Basic First Aid and our PWD’s are grateful for the QCDPRM for extending and sharing its time, treasure and skills to them.
